Phạm vi áp dụng / Scope of standard

This manual indicates the type of problems normally experienced
in each of the various bridge elements and identifies proper
maintenance methods. Most problems can be prevented or minimized by
timely preventive maintenance for bridges.

There is no intention to provide a complete identification of
all possible methods of repair, nor to identify the best method. A
workable method for the usual condition encountered is identified.
Generic terms are used whenever possible; however, the mention of
one type of product should not be intended as an exclusion of some
other product designed to accomplish the same purpose.
