Scope of standard 3.1 Measurement of specific gravity is a tool for determining the degree of maturation of a ceramic body. 1.1 This test method covers the determination of specific gravity of fired ceramic whiteware materials under prescribed conditions. Note 1: This test method is not applicable to materials attacked by water. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
