Scope of standard This section of part 2 of IEC 60598 specifies requirements for portable general purpose luminaires for indoor and/or for outdoor use (e.g. for garden use), other than handlamps, designed to be used with or incorporating electrical light sources on supply voltages not exceeding 250 V. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of part 1 to which reference is made.
