Scope of standard This standard specifies requirements and recommendations for personal care robots. The scope includes personal care tasks in non-medical applications, but excludes medical applications. Personal care robots may be moving autonomously, working in collaboration with humans or working on humans. Examples of application areas are mobile servant robots (with/without manipulator), physical assistance robots and people carrier robots.
